Understanding your royalties report

Licensing Contract defines relationships between Sellers and Buyers, from commercial rules to operations ones, regarding a list of Contents.

It is based on a Business Model and commercial and operational conditions.

Once the Contract has been validated by both parties, iKast starts monitoring the Contents distributed on Buyer's distribution channel and will store logs of each Viewing Logs session and build Royalties reports.

You can access to all your reports from the REPORTS/ROYALTIES menu.

Reporting list

This section lists all your running Contracts with extra information:

  • number of Contents under the contract

  • number of View Logs registered so far

  • total royalty money it has generated so far

Royalties full report

A report is split in different sections:

  1. a recall of all commercial terms and restrictions

  2. analytics regarding Content and their Views

  3. calculation of ongoing royalties

  4. potential infringed Viewing sessions

Commercial terms

This section is a reminder to be sure you get the full context of the report.

Note that if there are any Infringement cases due to unexpected Viewing logs, the user interface will highlight which conditions are breached and how much money is in question.

Analytics

This section helps you to understand, based on time, when you get royalties per Contents included in the Contract.

A second graphic shows you how money is split versus the Content list. So you can spot in a blink which Content is a money maker.

Two-time selectors help you to fix a specific time window. By default, it is set to the current ongoing month.

Royalties calculation

This section is like bookkeeping: it lists for all Contents in the Contact the total of royalties generated by the Viewing Logs. Then any MG or Flat fee will be computed to give a final total revenue.

Note: if some Viewing Logs are not legit they will be isolated from the normal report.
