Create and moderate an interactive chat during live streaming

Modified on Wed, 17 May, 2023 at 3:44 PM

When you launch a live stream, you have the possibility to display an interactive chat module where your users will be able to interact: comment, ask questions, send emojis etc…

This feature is only available for customers with the Live Streaming RTMP option (available from Start plans).

Note: your users will only be able to interact live if they have an account on your platform and are logged in with their credentials. If you are organizing a free event in which the creation of an account is not necessary, then users will not be able to interact.

How to activate the interactive live chat?

First of all you have to go to the menu Platform > Configuration and then activate the feature in the live settings.

Then you have the possibility to add moderators who will be able to delete messages or users (to add a moderator, the person must have created an account on your platform beforehand):

Once the live has started, your users will have access to the chat by clicking on the button  in the top right corner of the video player. They will be able to decide whether or not to display the interactive chat by clicking on the button.

How to moderate the live chat?

During the live show if you are a moderator a badge will be displayed next to your name.

You will then see 3 small dots in front of each user, by clicking on these 3 dots you will be able to :

  • Delete the message
  • Block the user

If you delete the message, it will be marked as “Deleted by a moderator”.

If you block a user, it will be reported as blocked. You will be able to unblock it by clicking on the button and then removing the user from the blocked accounts.
