Do you want to reward loyal customers or send your content to influencers or journalists so that they can relay your content? Focus on free copies.

1. What are free copies?

Free copies are time-limited access to specific content contained in a subscription or rental offer.


Go to your back office in OFFER MANAGEMENT > Free copies. You can choose between Create a free copy and Create a unique code.

2. Create a free copy.

Click on the blue button, Create a free copy, to open the creation and sending interface. An individual activation code is generated for each user.




Select the following information:


  • Enter the e-mail address of the person who is to RECEIVE access.


  • You can choose the language of the e-mail the person will receive.


  • Select the offer you wish to make (SVOD or Bundle).


  • Select the duration of the free access period you wish to offer.


  • Select the expiration date to activate access (a token corresponds to the activation token of the free copy). If you don't want an end date, simply select one far in the future.


Please note: After sending, you will only be able to edit the activation expiry date and the offer sent.


3. Activation of free access by your customers for free copies.

Once access has been edited, the user will receive an e-mail like this one.


The image (that of your project) and text are default.

You can modify them according to your OKAST package > Personalize your e-mails.




If he doesn't have an account on your site, he will first go through a screen to create his account.


Then all they have to do is click on the link and they'll be taken to the page below:




The code will be pre-entered, so all they have to do is click on "Access your content" and their account will have access to the desired offer.

- Replace 'monurl' with your platform URL

- Replace 'xxxxxxxxx' with the free copy code.



Warning


Under no circumstances should you enter a free copy code in the "Enter promo code" field of your platform's subscription interface.

4. Create a free copy with a unique code.


Click on the blue button, Create a unique code, to open the creation and sending interface. An identical activation code is generated for all your users.


Select the following information:



  • The title of your activation code. It will be visible in the back office in the menu OFFER MANAGEMENT > Free copies.


  • Generate a unique code by clicking on the " " icon in the Code field.


  • Select the offer you wish to give away (SVOD or Bundle).


  • Use the buttons on the Access module to select : 


A number of days (several consecutive days).

  • Select the duration of the free period you wish to offer.


  • Select the number of activations possible with this unique code.


  • Select a deadline or end date for activation of the unique code. If you don't want an end date, simply select one far in the future.


A specific date (a particular day).

  • Select the exact activation date of the unique code you wish to offer.


  • Select a deadline or end date for activation of the unique code.

  • If you don't want an end date, simply select one far in the future.



5. Activate the unique code for your customers


To share the link to the page containing the unique code with your users, send this link with your information:


https://monurl/subscribe/freecopy?copy_token=xxxxxxxxx

- Replace 'monurl' with your platform URL

- Replace the term 'xxxxxxxxx' with the unique code.

6. View your free accesses.

Once you've sent your free copy or generated your unique code, you can keep track of your free accesses.


Free copies.




1 - Status:


Green or Activated:    The free copy has been activated, and is always available.

Orange or Pending:    The free copy has not yet been activated, but is still available.

Red or Expired:    The free copy has never been activated, and is no longer available.

Gray or Completed:    The free copy has been activated, but is no longer available.


2 - Here you'll find the e-mail address of the Free Access recipient.


3 - This column corresponds to your Free Access offer.


Tip: if you wish to give access to a single piece of content, you can create an offer with the title "Free Access", for example, and add the content to this offer. If you don't want to display the offer on your platform, select the "Hide offer" option.


4 - This column contains the access code used to activate the Free Access offer.


Tip: you can, for example, print gift cards with unique identifiers.


5 - Two possibilities for dates:


  • If there are two dates side by side (example in 1st line), they correspond to the activation date and the expiry date of the access.


  • If there is only one, this corresponds to the deadline for activating the access before it expires (if the status is "Pending" (see point below).



6 - Duration of access: how many days free access will be available.


7 - The date of the last update of the various free accesses. When you hover over the "Pending" accesses (i.e. in orange), you'll have the option of resending the e-mail that the user will receive by clicking on. The button lets you edit the Free Copy information (expiration date & e-mail address only).


8 - This is the button for creating Free Copies.



Free copies unique code.




1 - Status:


  • Green or Activated:    The unique code has been activated, and is always available.
  • Orange or Pending:    The unique code has not yet been activated, but is still available.
  • Red or Expired:    The unique code has never been activated, and is no longer available.
  • Grey or Completed:    The unique code has been activated, but is no longer available.


2 - Here you'll find the Title entered in the code creation interface.


3 - This column shows the unique access code used to activate the Free Access offer.


4 - This column corresponds to the Free Access offer.


Tip: if you wish to provide access to a single content item, you can create an offer with the title "Free Access", for example, and add the content to this offer. If you don't want to display the offer on your platform, select the "Hide offer" option.


5 - This column shows the number of activations made with your unique code.


6 - Here you'll find either the Duration (lines 1 and 3) or the Access Date (line 2).


7 - The date by which your code must be activated.


8 - The creation date of your unique code.


9 - The date of the last free access update.


10 - This is the button for creating unique codes.


Filter and sort your free accesses.

You can sort all free accesses using the filters.

For statuses, click on "status" and choose a status to display only free accesses with that status.


For: Email, Title, Token and Offers.

Click once on the menu and your free accesses will be sorted alphabetically from Z > A. Click a second time and they will be sorted from A to Z.


For: Activation limit, Creation date, Modification date and Activation dates.


Click once on the menu and your free accesses will be sorted by date from the most recent to the oldest. Click a second time and they will be sorted from oldest to newest.



For: Free period and Max activation

Click on the menu and your free accesses will be sorted from largest to smallest. Click a second time and they will be sorted from the smallest to the largest access period.
