External content from 'EXTERNAL' sources: video players

Modified on Mon, 29 Apr at 4:08 PM

By selecting the External Source for your External content, you can offer your users video players from other platforms such as YouTube, Dailymotion, Facebook, Arte, Vimeo and France TV.

Go to the CONTENT MANAGEMENT > External content > EXTERNAL source menu.

In this case, you want to broadcast video players from existing external platforms such as YouTube, Dailymotion, Facebook, Arte, Vimeo and France TV.

1. Select the platform.

2. Copy and paste the URL or ID of the video into the 'URL or Source ID' field.

Example with an external source: Dailymotion next > https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8csk1l?playlist=x5nmbq

The player is indeed that of the selected external source. It appears in the foreground, smaller and detached from the page background.

Autoplay of external videos depends on the browser and platform selected. For example, Chrome tries to ban autoplay on external videos > For more information.

If you want to integrate an external video from a 'STREAM' source, such as a TV channel and its programme schedule, follow this link > External content from STREAM sources: URL HLS + EPG
